VFW Post 2075 and American Legion Post 314 hosted their annual Memorial Day Ceremony. The event was held on May 25th, 2026 outside of the Hawthorne Memorial Center. 

The event featured both city and state dignitaries, including Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Mayor Pro Tem Faye Johnson, Councilmember Alex Monteiro, and others. In addition to the ceremony, the City also unveiled the newly renovated Veterans Monument.
