The South Bay Police and Fire Memorial Foundation held its 50th Annual Medal of Valor Awards. The event was held on May 21st, 2026 at the Torrance Marriott.

The event recognizes police officers and firefighters who selflessly protect and serve the South Bay Cities. This year, 11 officers from the Hawthorne Police Department were recognized, including 10 Life Saving awards and 1 Sustained Superiority award.
