The South Bay Police & Fire Memorial Foundation presented their 49th Annual South Bay Medal of Valor on May 22nd at the Torrance Marriot. Police officers and firefighters from the South Bay were recognized and honored for providing exemplary service and performing acts of bravery which go beyond their call of duty. 

Seven officers from the Hawthorne Police Department were honored at this year's recognition: 2 officers from HPD were awarded the Distinguished Service Award and five officers from HPD with a life-saving award. Thank you to the entire department for all that you do for the city and its residents.
