City of Hawthorne Hosts Holiday Home Decorating Contest and Festival

HAWTHORNE, Calif., December 9, 2025 – The City of Hawthorne invites residents to celebrate the season by participating in the annual Hawthorne Home Decorating Contest and Holiday Festival. These community traditions bring neighbors together to share festive spirit and family fun throughout the city.

Registration is now open for the Holiday Home Decorating Contest, with a deadline to enter by Friday, December 12. The contest is open to Hawthorne residents only. Homes featuring lights or special effects must have displays operating between the hours of 5 and 10 p.m. Winners will be announced during the Holiday Festival on Friday, Dec. 19.

Residents can submit contest entries online and email photos to parksrec@cityofhawthorne.org. For more information, please call (310) 349-1640.

The community is also invited to the Holiday Festival on Friday, December 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hawthorne City Hall (4455 W. 126th St., Hawthorne, CA 90250). The event will feature photos with Santa, games, food trucks and holiday activities for all ages. Photography and video recording will occur during the event by City staff.
