Hawthorne, CA – August 21, 2025 – The City of Hawthorne is preparing for a significant heatwave this weekend, with temperatures expected to soar into the mid-90s. In response, local cooling centers will be open to provide residents with a safe and comfortable environment to escape the extreme heat.

Weekend Weather Forecast:

• Saturday, August 23: High of 94°F (34°C), Low of 72°F (22°C)
• Sunday, August 24: High of 95°F (35°C), Low of 73°F (23°C)

These elevated temperatures pose a risk for heat-related illnesses, especially among vulnerable populations. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting clothing, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

Cooling Centers Available:
