City of Hawthorne Announces Crenshaw Village Commercial Façade Groundbreaking Ceremony

HAWTHORNE, Calif., March 18, 2025 – The City of Hawthorne is pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Crenshaw Village Shopping Center’s Commercial Façade Improvement Project, the first of its kind in over 13 years. This new effort, made possible through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, marks a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing development and economic growth.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at the Crenshaw Village Shopping Center, located at 12730 Crenshaw Blvd, Hawthorne, CA 90250. The project will involve the renovation of the exterior of the shopping center, offering business owners the opportunity to enhance the appearance of their businesses at no cost.

The City of Hawthorne views this project as a key component in the reconstruction of the area, which is undergoing substantial development. As a major gateway into Hawthorne, the Crenshaw Village project not only supports local businesses, but also positions the City for future economic growth.

The Commercial Façade Program is currently not accepting new applications, but the City encourages local businesses to stay tuned for future opportunities, as another Commercial Façade groundbreaking is expected soon.
