Hawthorne Gad-A-Bouts
A senior club, the Gad-A-Bouts meet each Friday from 9am - noon in the Memorial Center Polaris Room.
Membership is $3.00 a year. Age is 55 and older, and Hawthorne residency is required.

The Gad-A-Bout Senior Club provides an enjoyable and beneficial recreation opportunity in as great a variety as possible for the benefit of senior citizens in the community.
LA County Regional Food Bank
On the 4th Tuesday of each month, LA County distributes FREE food to seniors 60 years and older at Rogers Park, 400 W Beach Ave., Inglewood, CA 90302. Hours each month are from 1pm till 3pm.
Computer Lab
The Parks & Recreation Foundation donated five new computers and a printer to the Senior Center for a computer Lab. The lab is available for free use to explore the Internet, e-mail, or for word processing. Classes will be offered in the near future. The lab is available Monday - Friday 9AM - 4PM

AARP Driving Class
Please call the Senior Center for upcoming dates & times. Once you make your appointment, you attend a 2 day course 4 hours each day. After completing the class, you will receive a CA DMV certificate which will qualify you for a discount on auto insurance with a good driving record. Be sure to call (310) 349-1650 for an appointment.
Bet Tzedek Legal Services

Dial-A-Ride Transportation
Days & Times: M-F 8:30am - 5:30pm
Sat., Sun., & Holidays 9:30am - 5:00 pm
Dial-A-Ride is for persons 60 yrs. of age or disabled. Tokens may be purchased at the Memorial Center after you have registered in the Senior Center and received your ID Card! Call (310) 965-8848 for reservation pick-up at least 24 hours in advance.
M.T.A. Senior Monthly Passes:
Issued from the 25th thru 10th of each month.
Cost $15.00
Requirements: Residents of Hawthorne between the ages of 62 and 64, who are not employed full time, or 65 or older.
Meals on Wheels:
(Suggested donation $1.75)
Need drivers for one day a week about 2 hours a day.

Nutrition Program
Lunch is served Monday - Friday at 12 noon in the Hawthorne Senior Center. The project is funded in part by the LA County Area on Aging of 1965. You must come into the Senior Center to register for the lunch program. A suggested $2.00 donation for seniors over 60 years of age is appreciated but not mandatory.
Senior SER Project
Employment opportunities for the mature worker (55 years of age and older) for residents of Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, Westchester, and El Segundo. Call "One Stop" (310) 680-3700.
Social Security Administration:
If you are a Medicare beneficiary with limited income and resources, you may be able to get extra help paying for prescription drugs. Beginning January 1, 2006 a new program will provide prescription drug coverage under Medicare. If you have questions please call 1 (800) 772-1213.
