Octoberfest Starts Early
Germans like to drink beer. A good brat and brew is their idea of having a good meal. This past Sunday with my cousin in town, we drove down to Huntington Beach to the Old World Octoberfest. In addition to the food, drink, music and dancing this event had Dodson dog races. The “wiener dogs” were dashing as their owners cheered them on. My grandkids enjoyed the festivities. Most Octoberfest events run from the middle of September til the end of October.
I’m the tournament director for the 5th annual Lutheran High School golf tournament to be held on Friday, October 30 at the Los Coyotes Golf Course in Fullerton. If you know of a foursome that would like to play in my tournament please contact me at email@example.com.
My apologies to my readers for publishing a wrong date. The VFW picnic/BBQ was held on September 13th, not the 19th as I had stated in my column last week.
